A County Council which was sued after a little girl on a playdate to a local authority house claimed she suffered injuries when she was suddenly attacked by a dog has settled the action for €36,500.

The Belgian shepherd dog which was owned by the local authority tenants, it was claimed, without warning attacked and bit the girl as she attended the house on a playdate 10 years ago.
