Cork man caught in possession of and distributing child sex abuse images gets suspended sentence

Judge accepted accused was addicted to adult pornography but ended up accessing the material that resulted in his prosecution

A man caught in possession of and distributing child sex abuse images in 2022 has expressed remorse and undergone extensive rehabilitation and on Wednesday, after more than a week in custody, he was given a two-year suspended sentence.

Judge Helen Boyle said possession was itself a serious charge but distribution of this material brought it to another level.
