Smashed iphone caused emotional pain to owner, says Cork judge

The owner of the phone told the court the device held precious photos of her late mother.

A sentencing judge commented that a smashed iPhone was more than a criminal damage case and that it caused emotional pain to the owner.

Christopher Duggan, aged 26, of St Vincent’s hostel, Anglesea Terrace, Cork, pleaded guilty to handling stolen property, namely the phone, and causing criminal damage by smashing it on the ground.
