Cork man accused of robbing couple on their way home from socialising in the city

CCTV showed the accused punching the injured man a number of times in the head and later going through a handbag that was taken during the incident on Shandon Street, court told

Court heard injured party slipped on ice as they were walking on Shandon Street and was then set upon by the accused and two women.

A couple returning home from socialising in Cork City were accosted and robbed on Shandon Street on January 7, and now gardaí have objected to bail being granted to the man described as the main instigator of this crime.

Dean Madden, of Lagan Grove, Mayfield, Cork, was staying briefly at an address at Dominic Street in Cork at the time of the alleged attack.
