A father dropping children to a pre-school in Cork City believes he and his kids would not be alive but for the actions of gardaí putting a stop to the reckless endangerment to life caused by a runaway driving escapade.

Another parent who had just put her child into her parked car near New Horizons pre-school, had to jump over the bonnet of her car to avoid being struck on Wolfe Tone Street, Cork, on the day.
