Two more arrested in connection with Dublin riots bringing total to 53

Unrest, including rioting and looting, broke out in the city following the stabbing of three young children and a woman in Parnell Square.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with the Dublin riots which took place in the city centre last November.

A woman, aged in her 40s, and a man, aged in his 30s, were arrested on Thursday morning.

This brings the total number of arrests in relation to the riots to 53.

Unrest, including rioting and looting, broke out in the city following the stabbing of three young children and a woman in Parnell Square.

During the riots up to seven vehicles were set alight, including three buses, three Garda cars and a Luas tram, as protesters became involved in violent clashes with gardaí.

The man and woman are currently being held at a Garda station in Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing, and they are continuing to appeal for information surrounding the events of November 23.

In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: "An Garda Síochána continues to appeal to anyone with information about the events on that day, or anyone involved in organising or participating in these events, to contact the Garda investigation team at Store Street Garda Station at 01 666 8000, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station."
