Woman whose careless driving in Kinsale injured passenger gets suspended sentence

The woman received a six-month suspended sentence at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

 A motorist found herself facing sentencing at Cork Circuit Criminal Court today for careless driving causing serious bodily harm to her front seat passenger.

 Caitriona De Burca, aged 25, of Castle Desmond, Higher O’Connell Street, Kinsale, County Cork, was driving a car in terrible weather  conditions on the day in question and it appeared that the car aquaplaned at a bend and collided with the ditch and with an oncoming car. Garda Peter Moran said nobody was seriously injured except the front seat passenger of Ms De Burca’s car.
