Garda fired a single shot through the windscreen to bring incident to an end

The accused caused damage to three parked cars and deliberately rammed two garda cars.

Garda cars were deliberately rammed by a stolen seven-ton rigid truck in a confined space in a life-threatening rampage that did not end until a garda fired a single shot through the windscreen — as the culprit compared it to scene from Grand Theft Auto.

Istvan Konyari, aged 38, who had been living at an apartment at Shandon Street, later told gardaí that the ramming felt like a scene from the videogame.
