Man who had sex with 15-year-old girl had told friend beforehand: 'She is about to become a woman'

Court heard after the man had sexual intercourse with the 15-year-old at his home, he drove off to play golf, gave the victim a bottle of water and €10 and left her at a bottle bank

A man who had sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl was reminded of her age by a friend who texted him beforehand and he replied: “She is about to become a woman.” 

The 34-year-old was remanded in custody on Thursday for Judge Helen Boyle to consider what sentence to impose on November 18 at Cork Circuit Criminal Court. He pleaded guilty to the offence of engaging in sexual activity with a child under the age of 17.
