A man and a woman were arrested at lunchtime on Thursday after allegedly being caught inside a house in Carrigaline, where the owner phoned gardaí about intruders in her home.

Garda Darren Shannon objected to bail being granted to the two accused when they appeared before Cork District Court because of what he described as the seriousness of the incident.
