Gardaí objected to bail for a man accused of striking another man across the head with an iron bar at 2pm in the afternoon on one of the main streets of Cork City.

Jamie Kavanagh, 30, of no fixed address and originally from Ballincollig, County Cork, is charged with having a metal bar and assault causing harm to another man at Grand Parade, Cork, on Tuesday, October 1.
