Cork man accused of punching garda allegedly wrote his own name in blood on wall of cell

Rian O’Leary, of Hayville, Sallybrook, Glanmire, County Cork, is charged with assaulting Garda Michael Abernethy, at Commons Road, Cork, on April 9.

 A Cork man accused of punching a garda in the face allegedly wrote his own name in blood on the cell wall of a garda station when taken in for questioning.

These were the allegations made by Sergeant Dave Delea at Cork District Court in the case against Rian O’Leary, of Hayville, Sallybrook, Glanmire, County Cork, who is charged with assaulting Garda Michael Abernethy, at Commons Road, Cork, on April 9.
