A woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man in Co Dublin earlier this month. 

The man was found with serious injuries on a road in the Balbriggan area in the early hours of Saturday, August 10. 

He was taken by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital, where he subsequently died on Sunday, August 11. 

An autopsy has been completed and its results are not being disclosed for operational reasons.

On Tuesday morning, August 27, gardaí arrested woman aged in her 40s in Balbriggan on suspicion of murder. 

She is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in North Dublin.

A garda spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
