Clare woman received €59,000 in personal injury damages without ever going to court

The judge heard one complainant had failed to declare nine previous accidents in which she picked up €59,000 in out-of-court settlements. 

A Co Clare woman has pocketed just under €59,000 in nine cases of personal injury damages from various insurance companies without ever having had to go to court, an outraged judge has been told.

Judge Michael Walsh in the Circuit Civil Court threw out two claims by Anne Keenan, of Church Drive, Clarecastle, Ennis, Co Clare, and her friend, Catherine McCarthy, Shelly Drive, Cloughleigh, Ennis, which he described as fraudulent and outrageous.
