A Ukrainian woman who is accused of assault causing harm to a woman at Mercy University Hospital and assaulting a member of staff at Boots pharmacy on Half Moon Street was remanded in custody until the end of the month.

Garda James O’Connell also charged 29-year-old Halyna Perashckak, of no fixed address, with engaging in threatening behaviour and being so drunk she was a danger to herself or others. These charges and the assault count relate to Saturday evening, July 6, at the Boots premises.

She is also charged with assaulting a woman at Mercy University Hospital on July 1, causing her harm. In addition, she was charged with engaging in threatening behaviour and being drunk and a danger on that occasion.

Prosecution evidence is to be sent to defence solicitor Diarmuid Kelleher.

He has expressed concerns about the young woman’s fitness to plead.

Judge John King remanded the accused in custody until July 31.
