Two pensioners in Youghal were the victims of serious attacks — one in his home and another while walking home early in the evening — and the investigating officer said the crimes were totally random and unprovoked.

28-year-old Adam Abrahams of Blackwater Heights, Youghal, County Cork, non-fatally strangled a 69-year-old in his home and later pulled a knife on this victim’s son. By 6.30pm he was involved in another unprovoked attack on a pensioner walking home.
