Man, 20s, arrested following €65k cannabis seizure in Tipperary

A man in his 20s has been arrested following the seizure of an estimated €65,000 worth of cannabis herb in Tipperary.

A Garda operation, which involved members of the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, Tipperary Divisional Drugs Unit and Revenue, was carried out at a property in Thurles on Friday.

During the course of searches, some 3kg of cannabis was uncovered at the location along with drug paraphernalia. 

A man aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene and detained at a Tipperary Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking Act) 1996.

He was later charged and will appear before the Courts at a later date.

A spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
