Judge tells Cork prisoner with long history of burglaries to 'stick to the art' 

David Cronin of no fixed address appeared at Cork District Court by video link from Portlaoise Prison.

A 58-year-old prisoner with a long history of carrying out burglaries in Cork has been spending time in custody painting pictures and the sentencing judge in his latest case advised him to “stick to the art in future". 

Judge Mary Dorgan said that she had seen other prisoner art recently and found it impressive. She told David Cronin that he would be better off putting his time into that kind of activity.
