Shoplifter kicked and threatened Cork shop worker after trying to steal two bottles of wine

Accused threatened to break a bottle of wine over worker's head during incident at The Wine Buff on Oliver Plunkett Street

A shop worker at The Wine Buff store on Oliver Plunkett Street approached a woman leaving without paying for two bottles of wine and the culprit kicked her in the leg and threatened to break one of the bottles over her head.

Judge Mary Dorgan imposed a six-month jail term on Margaret Deasy for this assault at Cork District Court.
