Former Subway employee stole €1,000 from premises

Accused took advantage of his knowledge of his former workplace to carry out the offence, court told

Accused was identified on CCTV because of his prior employment at the premises, court heard

A former employee of a Subway fast-food outlet returned to the premises and made use of his knowledge of staff access to let himself in to steal €1,000 from the till and the safe.

Frank Buttimer, solicitor, said the defendant, Lirio Pinto, readily accepted he had taken advantage of his knowledge of his former workplace to carry out the offence.
