Two men arrested following €1.7m drug seizure

During the course of the operation, six kilograms of cocaine, 65 kilograms of cannabis, €100,000 in cash, a cocaine press, mixing agent and three high-value vehicles were seized.
Two men have been arrested following the seizure of more than €1.7m worth of drugs in Dublin on Tuesday evening.
Officers from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) carried out an intervention on two vehicles in the Swords area just before 8pm.
Gardaí said it was part of an ongoing intelligence-leg investigation targeting serious and organised crime in the Dublin Region.
Searches were also carried out at two residential properties in the Swords and Ballybrack areas.
During the course of the operation, 6kg of cocaine, 65kg of cannabis, €100,000 in cash, a cocaine press, mixing agent and three high-value vehicles were seized.
A garda spokesperson said the total value of the controlled drugs seized exceeds €1.7 million and are pending analysis.
Two men aged in their 40s and 50s were arrested in relation to drug trafficking.
They are currently being detained at a Garda station in the Dublin Region under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing.
