Man, 40s, arrested in connection with explosives and drug seizure

A man has been arrested after a Garda operation uncovered explosives and drugs in a van in Dublin.
Gardaà searched a van in the Ronanstown area at around 3.40pm on Sunday.
During the course of the search, four viable improvised explosive devices were discovered.
The Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were called to the scene where they were able to safely remove the devices.
A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being detained at a station in Dublin.
Subsequent searches in the Ronanstown and Ballyfermot areas resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of suspected cannabis and a scrambler bike.
All drugs seized will be sent for examination to Forensic Science Ireland.
Investigations are ongoing.
