Man, 30s, charged with killing of Ian Baitson in Cobh

A man in his 30s has been charged over the killing of Ian Baitson in Cobh.

Mr Baitson, 32 died in Cork University Hospital last Tuesday, after suffering serious injuries in an assault on the evening of Friday, March 15.

On Friday evening, gardaí investigating the killing arrested a man aged in his 30s under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

In an update on Sunday afternoon, An Garda Síochána confirmed that the man has been charged and is expected to appear before Midleton District Court on Monday morning.
