Cork man accused of using axe to smash car as driver sat inside

The Director of Public Prosecutions directed that the case could proceed summarily at Cork District Court but only on a plea of guilty.

An axe was allegedly produced during an incident when a car was smashed up in the driveway of a house in Cork causing over €4,600 worth of damage as the owner sat in the driver’s seat.

That was the allegation made at Cork District Court as Patrick Mooney, of 11 Carloch Court, The Glen, Cork, was charged with causing criminal damage.
