Legal team for ex solicitor Michael Lynn appeals  his conviction and 5.5-year jail term

Lawyers for former solicitor Michael Lynn, who was found guilty of stealing just over €18m from six financial institutions during the Celtic Tiger era, have tonight said they will appeal his conviction and five and a half year jail sentence.

They also called for the Oireachtas to establish a tribunal of inquiry to "properly investigate" systemic flaws in banking in Ireland.
