A man in his 20s has been arrested after gardaí seized around €30,000 of cocaine in Co Kerry.

The search under warrant, occurred at a residence in Listowel on Tuesday evening.

Cocaine with an estimated value of €31,850, along with drug paraphernalia was seized during the course of the search.

The seized drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

The was arrested at the scene and held at a Garda station in Kerry under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1996.

He has since been released without charge, and a file will be prepared for the DPP.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.

The search was conducted by gardaí attached to Listowel Garda station, the Kerry Divisional Drug Unit, and the Southern Regional Dog Unit, as part of Operation Tara.

Operation Tara aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels - international, national, local - involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
