Corkman jailed over aggravated burglary with an axe

Accused did not carry out assault but judge ruled he took part in a joint enterprise

A man woke to the sound of two strangers breaking into his apartment and when he ran to the safety of his bedroom, an axe was used to smash the door.

That was the frightening experience for the apartment dweller at Sunday’s Well in Cork.
