Juvenile charged in connection with criminal damage incident in Ballymun

During the course of the search a sum of cash and a quantity of crack cocaine was seized along with a motorcycle believed to be one of the vehicles involved in the incident.

A juvenile has been charged in connection with an incident involving extensive criminal damage on the main public plaza in Ballymun on Tuesday afternoon.

Gardaí carried out an extensive investigation and obtained a search warrant which was executed on Wednesday at a residence in Ballymun. 

A sum of cash and a quantity of crack cocaine was seized along with a motorcycle believed to be one of the vehicles involved in the incident, during the course of the search.

The  was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and has since been charged. 

He is due to appear before Dublin Children's Court on Thursday morning at 10:30am.

"Investigations are ongoing," a Garda spokesperson said.
