'Kind and jolly' man found guilty of rape and sexual assault of Cork woman in her own bed

Complainant said she woke up — having been drunk and asleep — to the accused having sex with her, court heard

A Cork woman woke in her own bed to a young man raping her — a young man she had previously regarded as “a nice person, always kind and jolly”. 

On Monday at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Cork, this young man who denied raping her and related charges has been found guilty of rape and sexual assault.
