Victim of Tallaght stabbing named locally as teenager remains in custody

The man who was killed on Monday evening following a stabbing incident in Tallaght, Co Dublin has been named locally as Ionel Nicolae Diaconu.
Mr Diaconu, 45, is believed to be from Eastern Europe originally.
The incident occurred shortly before 9pm in a residence in the Castle Park area of Tallaght.
The man was treated by emergency services personnel but was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.Â
His body remained at the scene which was preserved pending forensic and technical examination.
A 19-year-old man, who was arrested at the scene, remains in custody this morning.
He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Dublin Region.
"Investigations ongoing and further updates will follow," a Garda spokesperson said.
Local Councillor Mick Duff lives just hundreds of metres away from where the incident took place.
He has described it as a major tragedy for the community: "There are families heading to school this morning, whether it is Scoil Aonghusa or Tallaght Community School."
"It is the time of year when people are thinking about Christmas, so for this to happen it is shocking, and it is hard to comprehend."
