Jury shown knife man said he used in killing of his wife

Valerie French Kilroy was killed at her home at Kilbree Lower, Westport, Co Mayo, between June 13, 2019, and June 14, 2019.

A jury has been shown the bloodied, bent knife that a man who denies the murder of his wife at their rural Co Mayo home said he had used in the killing.

The Central Criminal Court has been told by the prosecution that while the accused James Kilroy admits to killing Valerie French Kilroy four years ago, psychiatric testimony from expert witnesses will be central to the verdict in the case.
