Cork court told 'prodigal son' returning to family home after assaulting father

Cork District Court heard the 31-year-old man breached a safety order by assaulting his father and putting him in fear.

A man who punched and kicked his father at the family home in August was described as “very much the prodigal son” whose father is now prepared to welcome him back.

The case came before an in-camera hearing of Cork District Court where the parties cannot be identified as it relates to a charge under the Domestic Violence Act.
