Garda file completed for case of three men charged over €4.2m cocaine seizure in Cork

The garda file related to seizure of over €4 million worth of cocaine in Dunkettle in August has been completed, it was confirmed on Monday.
Three men who are charged in relation to the matter are to appear in Cork District Court again on November 1.
22-year-old Donatel Dodaj, with an address at Paradise Road, Athlone in Co. Westmeath, represented by solicitor, Shane Collins-Daly, and Daniel Afedoaei of Slí an Aifreann in Athlone, who is also aged 22, represented by barrister, Cliodhna Buckley, were remanded in custody by Judge Joanne Carroll until November 1.
A third man, 39-year-old Gentjan Dodaj of Paradise Road, Athlone, was previously remanded on bail until that date.
Sergeant John Kelleher said the garda file in the case was completed but had not yet been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
All three are charged with possession of cocaine, and having cocaine for sale or supply on Sunday, August 6, at L2998 in Richmond, Dunkettle, Co. Cork.
The seizure of the drugs occurred following an intelligence-led operation targeting persons suspected of involvement with organised crime, a joint operation conducted by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau and personnel attached to the Revenue Customs Service. During this operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 60kg of cocaine with an estimated value of €4,200,000.
