Welfare cheques for blind Cork woman still being cashed 19 months after she died 

Woman's daughter had two of the cheques lodged to her own account in that period and pleaded guilty to theft by deception

Cheques for Blind Welfare Allowance being sent to an elderly woman in Cork were still being cashed every month — 19 months after her she died.

This situation was described on Monday at Cork District Court although the matter was discovered by the HSE more than five years ago.
