Man charged with rape and coercive control of wife in Cork

The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was brought before Cork District Court.

A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged with coercively controlling his wife for a period of almost three years and raping her seven times.

Detective Garda John Paul Twomey arrested the accused man on Monday night and brought him before Cork District Court today.
