The court was told that the accused and the men he was with took exception to the gardaí trying to do their job and keep the peace.

A young man who tried to record gardaí at the height of a volatile situation on the street has been given a suspended jail term for his threatening behaviour.

Christopher O’Brien, of 175 Pearse Road, Cork, denied engaging in any misbehaviour.
