Court hears of 'significant' road accident fraud ring in Clare and Galway

Counsel for Aviva Insurance Ireland said that he would be calling evidence concerning the fraud ring of around 60 claims arising from 16 separate accidents.

There has been “a significant fraud ring" involving members of the Romanian and Traveller communities in Clare and Galway, a court has heard.

At Ennis Circuit Court, counsel for Aviva Insurance Ireland, John Hogan BL, said that he was making the claim on behalf of his client. Mr Hogan said that he would be calling evidence concerning the fraud ring of around 60 claims arising from 16 separate accidents.
