A teenage boy who sexually assaulted his friend in a field has had a sentence of two years’ detention deferred for one year.

The boy (17), who cannot be named for legal reasons, was aged 15 when he sexually assaulted the then 14-year-old girl in a field after they had both consumed alcohol together.
