'Hare-brained' plan to bring drugs to prison foiled

Prison drugs dog sniffed out stash of tablets and cannabis brought by Waterford man to Cork Prison as a present for a friend, Cork District Court heard

Judge Olann Kelleher put sentencing back for two months for the accused to liaise with the probation service.

A hare-brained plan saw a young Waterford man carrying cannabis and tablets to Cork Prison as a present for a friend who was serving a sentence.

Unfortunately for the visitor, the prison drugs dog sniffed out the stash and the visitor was prosecuted on drug charges.
