Man arrested after gun seized by gardaí in Dublin

Gardaí have seized a Glock pistol after stopping a car in Dublin last night.

Officers stopped the car on the Neilstown Road, Clondalkin, at around 7.20pm and searched a man's backpack.

They found a Glock pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition which have been sent to the Garda Ballistics Unit for analysis.

The man, aged in his early 20s, was arrested and is being questioned at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
