Gardaí investigate discovery of man's body at Dublin recycling facility

Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a man’s body at a recycling facility in Dublin on Friday who is believed to have recently availed of welfare and homeless services in Cork city centre.

The man’s body was discovered at a recycling facility in Clondalkin, Dublin 22, on Friday shortly after 9pm.

He has since been identified as Andrew Haire, who was 35.

According to gardaí, Mr Haire had been availing of welfare and homeless services in the Dublin and Cork city centres recently.

Investigating gardaí are seeking the public’s assistance in establishing his movements between July 17 and July 24. It is believed that Mr. Haire was in Dublin, Kilkenny and Cork city centres during this time.

Gardaí are appealing to members of the public who knew or may have interacted with Mr Haire to contact Ronanstown Garda Station on 01-666 7700, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

Mr Haire’s body was removed from the scene on Friday for an autopsy, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons.

A Garda investigation has commenced under a senior investigating officer, with an incident room established at Lucan Garda Station.

A Family Liaison Officer has also been appointed to assist Mr Haire's family.
