E-scooter rider dies in overnight crash with car

A man has died in a crash involving an e-scooter and a car in Co Meath.

The rider of the e-scooter, an unidentified male, was pronounced dead at the scene on the Kentstown Road in Navan at about 1.45am on Sunday.

His body has been taken to the mortuary at Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan.

The driver and passenger in the car, a man in his 60s and a man in his 20s respectively, were both uninjured.

The road was closed for a forensic examination, and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.

In a separate incident, a teenage man died in a single-vehicle crash in Co Tipperary in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident took place on the L4101 at Lanespark, Ballynonty, Thurles, and gardaí are also appealing for witnesses.
