Cyclist, 40s, dies following hit-and-run in Kildare

A cyclist in his 40s has died following a road traffic collision involving a bicycle on the R445, Dublin Road, Co Kildare.
Gardaí believe the collision occurred sometime between 10.30pm on Thursday and 12.30pm on Friday, when the cyclist was discovered.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has since been removed to Naas General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.
The R445 remained closed on Friday, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward and are particularly seeking anyone who travelled on the R445 between Kildare Town and the Junction 12 roundabout on the N7 between 10.30pm on Thursday and 12.30pm on Friday.
Road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam or mobile phone recordings, are being asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.
