Limerick house badly damaged in early-morning petrol bomb attack

A house in Limerick City has been badly damaged following a petrol bomb attack.

The attack occurred in the early hours of this morning on Lenihan Avenue, Prospect.

A garda spokesperson confirmed to the Irish Examiner that gardaí attended a report of “criminal damage by fire at a residential property” at approximately 4am.

“Investigations are ongoing”, added the spokesperson.

It is not known if anyone was injured in the attack.

Three appliances from Limerick Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident.
