Child killed in crash in Co Mayo
Road users and pedestrians with camera footage who were travelling in the area between 10.40am and 11.40am on Sunday, June 21 have been asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
A child has died after he was struck by a car in Co Mayo on Sunday.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision involving a car and pedestrian which happened on the N59 at Eskeragh, Crossmolina, near Ballina at around 11.20am.
The pedestrian, a male child, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The body of the deceased has since been conveyed to the mortuary at Mayo University Hospital where an autopsy will take place in due course.
The local coroner has been notified.
The scene where the incident occurred is preserved pending an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local traffic diversions have been put in place.
