Four arrested following public order incident in Co Laois

Gardaí on duty at an event at Stradbally Road in Portlaoise on Sunday, May 31, arrested the four, including two men in their 20s, and two juveniles, following the incident at around 1pm.

Four people have been arrested following a public order incident in Co Laois on Sunday afternoon. 

Gardaí on duty at an event on Stradbally Road in Portlaoise, arrested the four, two men aged in their 20s, and two juveniles, following the incident which occurred around 1pm.

All four are currently being detained at Garda stations in the Eastern Region and have been charged to appear before a special sitting of Portlaoise District Court tomorrow morning at 10.30am.

Two people, a man aged in his 20s, and a juvenile, are also being treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are ongoing, a garda spokesperson said.
