Ireland's first-ever €1m scratch card prize has been won.
It is the first time in the history of the National Lottery that someone has won a seven-figure sum on a scratch card.
The prize was won in the All Cash Millionaire game, which introduced the highest-ever top prize for an Irish scratch card.
The winning scratchcard was confirmed to have been sold at Applegreen Gorey, on Ramstown Lower in Gorey, Co Wexford.
The store manager at the shop said her team are delighted.
"To sell the very first €1m scratch card prize ever won in Ireland is an incredible milestone, and we’re absolutely thrilled it happened right here in Gorey," said Rita Kareckiene.
"There’s a real sense of excitement among the team knowing that one of our customers has become a millionaire in such an historic way. It’s a moment we’ll never forget in-store, and we’re delighted to have played a part in such a special win.
"We wish the winner every happiness as they enjoy their €1m prize."
National Lottery spokesperson Darragh O'Dwyer said: "This is a huge milestone for the National Lottery as we reveal that the top prize on the All Cash Millionaire scratch card, which is a first of its kind in Ireland, has now been won.
"A player in Co Wexford has scratched their way to €1m, becoming the first person in Ireland ever to win a €1m prize on a scratch card."
