Young man dies following crash in Wexford

A young man has died following a crash in Co Wexford.

The single-vehicle collision occurred on the R702 near Curraghgraigue, Enniscorthy, on Monday morning.

Gardaí and emergency services responded following report of the collision, involving a car, that occurred at approximately 11.30am. The driver, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Garda spokesperson said: "His body has been conveyed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford.

"The coroner has been notified."

The road was closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward. Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling on the R702 between 10.30am and 11.30am on Monday 18th May 2026 are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
