Man dies following crash involving tractor in Co Leitrim

A man has died following a crash in Drumcong, Co Leitrim.

The single-vehicle crash involving a tractor occurred on the L3355 near Mullaghycullen, on Sunday, shortly before 11pm.

The driver, a man aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Garda spokesperson said: "His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Sligo University Hospital and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. The local coroner has been notified."

The road remains closed and the scene will be examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling on the L3355 between 10:30pm and 11:00pm on Sunday 17th May 2026 are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
