Witness appeal after man killed in Cavan crash 

Gardaí said the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A man in his 30s has died following a crash in Co Cavan.

The single-vehicle crash occurred on a local road in Ardkill Beg, Carrickaboy, at around 12.40pm on Sunday.

Gardaí said the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His body has since been removed to Cavan Monaghan General Hospital and an autopsy will take place in due course.

Garda forensic collision investigators attended the scene and an examination took place. Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

"Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area between 9am and 12.40pm are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cavan Garda Station on (049) 436 8800, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station."

Investigations are ongoing, said a spokesperson.
